Re: My worst fear came true........

Hey, are you saying you got something, broke it accidentially and then made a claim and got paid back, if so thats not very fair to the seller/shipper?

I cant see what else you could have meant?

You also dont seem to remember that other forum members reported damage to there Gaincorp SU even when it was packed well???

Spector

No - If you look at most credit card benifit policies you will find that they insure purchases made on their cards for accidental damage for a certain period after you have bought the item. In my experience this is a good scheme and offers more guarantees to the buyer than Paypal will.

Over the years I have had several high value items that have been damaged within this time period and have been compensasted for the full purchase price. Only once have I had to send them the item (They do reserve the right to request the item before you are refunded). This has nothing to do with the seller as you could have well received the item in A1 condition.

Ooops!

Re: My worst fear came true........

Hi guys, sorry to see that my thread has caused some misunderstandings here in the forum. I have contacted PayPal by phone and was assured that I can safely return the item to get a refund without fearing a claim for damage by the seller. In other words, the case will be coming to a close soon. The funny part of the phone conversation is that the agent actually proposed that I try negotiating with the seller to share the extra shipping cost since I would now need to pay for the shipping service with tracking which will cost more that the original shipping.

Anyway, unless the seller openly puts up his case here, you will all just be listening to my side of the story. I don't want to dwell on the past and since I already have bought a new SU-27UBK, let us all move on and enjoy the common passion we have in diecast collection.

Re: My worst fear came true........

Well said Valkyrie! Looks like things turned out pretty alright in the end. Sorry to hear about the $ you have to spend to ship the item back. But then again, the outcome could have been far less favourable. Anyway, good to know that you managed to get a good deal on the Su-27UBK from another dealer.
