Just hoping that by opening a dispute they might just nudge the seller into doing the right thing.

| Re: Goodie goodie gumdrops....PLAAF Su-27UBK is here! I have already opened a dispute but instead of answering through the dispute console of PayPal, the seller proposed different ways of resolving this case through emails. One of which is to accept a $10 credit which I just cannot accept. Another is to buy another same plane at half price but I have completely lost my confidence in buying from him. So far, in all my purchases, the packing will include some cushioning materials but he just dismissed it saying that they will not help and are not necessary. The two issues I have to support myself are that the shipping method paid for was Priority Mail but the actual shipping was First Class Mail and I believe this could be the reason for the small box used which has some space for the item to move up and down, and that he has agreed to my request during purchase to include adequate shipping. He actually suggested to me that the plane was fine with no permanent damage and I just need to glue them since these are glue points. I told him to take a closer look at the pics. Many parts are broken so no matter how skillfully the gluing is carried out, there will be lines. I can't believe I have to go through all these... for a plane I have been looking forward to and one of the most expensive planes I paid to date... | |||||||||||||

| Re: Goodie goodie gumdrops....PLAAF Su-27UBK is here! Man, that just stinks -- a $10 credit for a model that is virtually worthless to a collector that you paid that much for... I feel for ya. Sure, extra padding doesn't help protect a delicate model... and I have a bridge to sell him! | |||||||||||||

| Re: Goodie goodie gumdrops....PLAAF Su-27UBK is here! Well this is a mess. Looks to me like you never said if you did or did not get insurance on the item. If you did your golden and should be fully covered as he said in his email. I ship to a friend in Germany all the time and use the service your seller used, I get insurance on it and the one time they messed one up my friend carried it back to the Post Office in Germany and made a claim. They refunded the money in about 5 weeks, but at least he got the money for the thing. My experience with PayPal is that if you dont have insurance and he can prove you got the item, they dont do much for the buyer. You know PayPal is owned by Ebay and they work together as far as I can tell. What was wrong with the sellers offer for the $44.00 replacement and did that include shipping? Also does the seller have good comments overall? That can tell you a lot. Most are not perfect. I deal with a guy that is 99%, pretty good for something like 7000 sales he has. Comments can tell you a lot about there honesty. I only deal with sellers over 95% Positive. Then I also read the neagatives if I can see them and you can tell if those are impossible to make happy customers or a hard to deal with seller. Some of you on here always jump right down the throat of Ebay Sellers before you even know what the real deal is on there end, of course in this situation I guess we will not ever know both sides of the story. I am also not sure why anyone would expect the seller to take the full hit on this. I doubt he shipped it like this, unless of course his comments are poor already. If the $44.00 offer includes shipping thats what I would do if it was me. Must cost at least $30.00 just to ship from USA to Singapore on 4 lbs. Just my two cents, Biggie | |||||||||||||

| Re: Goodie goodie gumdrops....PLAAF Su-27UBK is here! Hi Biggie, the item was shipped to me via First Class Mail (without my knowledge) which does not come with insurance in the first place. I do not want to speculate on whether the item was defective in the first place or not. But the facts are that I paid for Priority Mail (which has some forms of tracking so I will know if the item has reached Singapore and also when it has been delivered, and also the item will be delivered via the more efficient premium courier service in Singapore instead of the normal postal service. We will also be asked to check and acknowledge on a form when the item arrives unlike First Class which will simply be handed over), and I asked for adequate cushioning materials when I placed the order which came with a "Will do" from the seller. I bought the item on May 8 and it reached me on May 27. For my past 20 purchases from the eBay sellers or online stores from the States, it has never taken more than 8 days for the item to arrive. Singapore is a very small country and the tracking would have shown it will not take more than day to clear custom and delivery. I did not want to try the $44 option as in the end it would mean spending a total of $132 for one good plane and after this incident, how to avoid not expecting that the item will come in same condition since the seller firmly believe the gaincorp packaging is already sufficient. I know there are always two sides of a story. I can tell you I have had many positive experiences with sellers in the States. This is just one isolated case for me. I have also not mentioned the seller unless you personally want to know. You can be your own judge and I have the correspondences (both ways) to support my case when I escalate the case to PayPal for a fair assessment of this situation. | |||||||||||||

| Re: My worst fear came true........ Well I wish you luck, but from what I can get out of these post the guy did offer you some options, and you can get insurance on all overseas shipments, I do it all the time. If you did not take out insurance I dont know how you expect the seller to do more. I called a friend of mine that works for USPS here to see what the difference in the two types of service is. He said they were basically the same except Priority gives you some tracking and the other only gives a customs id label which he said can also be used to locate stuff if its lost. He also told me the difference in cost once your over a few pounds is only a few dollars to most overseas address's. If it was me I would make the seller an offer that is better for you but does not ask him to take all the blame either. I remembered this morning I got some IXO models from Spain one time and the packaging was so so, the box looked like they dropped it from a plane :-) I complained to Ebay and PayPal and ended up after around 6 weeks with a $10.00 or $15.00 credit. The seller had offered to ship me two of the planes over for 1/2 price and now that I think about it that was not a bad offer. Biggie | |||||||||||||

And international PM also includes insurance -- a set amount based on the declared value that you can upgrade. So if you asked for and paid for PM and the seller chose to save some bucks and roll the dice with a cheaper method, which sounds like the case here, he should bear 100% of the burden, no question. It really cheeses me when sellers charge for a premium shipment method and then give you parcel post or something equivalent.

Greetings valkyrie, I'm sorry to read about your horrible experience with this transaction. I know you've said that you have purposely not revealed the seller's name. However, if this isn't resolved to your satisfaction, will you reconsider this course of action and post his info? If this guy does turn out to be a dirtbag, you'd be doing ALL of us collectors a favor by letting us know who to avoid buying from... Again, I'm sorry to read of your troubles acquiring this model. I hope your future diecast purchases go a LOT smoother!
