Re: Some WW II Warbirds Get No Respect

In our many threads and posts about WW II warbirds, wish lists for new diecast molds, etc. some planes with decent service performances almost never get mentioned. Here's a short list of planes that get no respect:

1) U.S.A.: Baltimore, Harpoon, C-46, C-54, Vengeance, Piper Grasshopper, Stinson sentinel

2) Great Britain: Beaufort, Walrus, Battle, Fulmar, Barracuda, Albacore, Anson, Tiger Moth

3) USSR: IL-4, SB-3, SU-2, MDR-6, Beriev KOR-1, MBR-2, PO-2

4) Italy: SM-81, SM-82, SM-84, RE-2001/02, Fiat G. 50, Cant Z 506

5) Germany: HE-115, DO-24, FW-189, JU-188, B&V 138

Am I and, probably, CC, the only guys who find such aircraft fascinating?

7) Bloch 174, Latecoere 298, Breguet 691, Arsenal VG-33

Nope, I agree with ya..... Baltimore's & Maryland's overlooked FAR too often, let alone Ventura's too

Apparently , the RAF 'museum' has one in storage (seen pictures & sweet it is, too !)

but doing 'em in die-cast would be (presumably) 'risky' for manufacturers !!!!!!!!

The Marlyand has some real good looking paint schemes too, that and I think it makes for a good looking light bomber.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.
