I really like this one, too. Same size, so it doesn´t matter if it is a Tiger or Leopard

But it is way too expensive....

"Well, that's a 1:48 B-17 by FM in the livery of the 909 we toured through together a couple years ago up in SacTown. That's a fond memory for me of a great day together and I wanted the ultimate rememberance. Oh, and I sold 4-5 models to pay for it, too."

Her: "Oh, well, okay... "

Me: "Whew..."

That was a good one......HOly crap two F-18 just flew by my house...Damm they were low must of landed at the airport here which is only 1.5 miles away from me.
Jumped me right of my seat......

Re: The Ultimate "Will the Wife Notice" Test

Lying is useless...............they remember..............and regurgitate your folly at the right moment. Be warned, your past will catch up with you!

No-one expects the Spanish Inquisition !

Our chief weapons are making you suffer, when we find out, dusting your die-cast when you're out, asking if that plane which 'used to be' on the shelf was 'special', demanding to know when you're going to grow up, referring, obliquely, to all the neighbourhood men who seem to be white-washing fences, asking questions like: " so, if it only cost you £9.99, why does it say on the statement.............", and there's lots more where they came from !

cheers,

Momo

Pappy I salute you, that was a masterpiece of quick thinking, and not even a single bruise !

Re: The Ultimate "Will the Wife Notice" Test

My 1/16 Tiger I arrived today and the box is a tad 'larger' than I expected , 27"(69cm) X 20"(51cm) X 12.5" (32cm) . My daughter is highly amused and was giving me advice on how to minimise the fallout when my wife sees it later in the living room .

(To be honest though, I did mention it to my [tolerant ] spouse prior to purchase and she was relatively 'accepting' of the idea given that I'm becoming more discerning with my diecast purchases of late and they are subsequently becoming less in number - notwithstanding the 1/32 Mossie due in a month or two .)

I'll post some pics once I summon the courage to open up the box ...

No, the truth -- the 909 is part of the Collings Foundation bomber tour and we did a walkthru of it it together a few years ago.... quick thinking, eh?

Re: The Ultimate "Will the Wife Notice" Test

Pappy, the next time "909" is in the area, take the Mrs. for a flight in it, that should reduce future flak. Dunno how you handle tanks though!!! Ah yes, buy her a ride-on mower and tell her is is handled just like a tank; gets the lawn mowed too.

Shrewd thinking there Jetfan, I only see one flaw, well I wouldn't trust Lorraine to drive one of those, (it might cull our cat population though so its not all bad) !
