Re: The Ultimate "Will the Wife Notice" Test

Both Corgi and FM Forts suffer from "nose issues" -- I will say the FM nose seam is less noticeable than the Corgi 909 though. (Corgi's has a horizontal gap that is better on some than on others -- FM has a vertical gap, better on some than others... )

Very true....Thats why i only have Memphis Bell and 909 Corgi B-17's.

Re: The Ultimate "Will the Wife Notice" Test

My father has the Gen. Ike FM B-17....I like it ok just too big.
It does have a little gap area the cockpit area where the canopy area opens up to see inside the cockpit. It's a little warped.
But the nose on it is much better then the Corgi B-17.
On my Corgi B-17's the Belle is tight seam area in the nose looks good....On the 909 i had to go through at least 4 different ones before i got a good one.
The seam on the others was very ugly and this one i have now is as tight as it can be..I have no idea why Corgi did not make their nose the way FM did ..A one piece nose would of been the answer to Corgi's nose problems.

Sure, but when the B-24 didn't phase her.... I figured it was time to push the envelope!

My wife threatened me with that - I think the envelope contained divorce papers....

Take it out and play with it

Surely you chaps who fear She Who Must Be Obeyed can find some counterpart that she spends the family fortune on without consulting you to rebut her concerns. My wife, "Her Outdoors", is a very keen gardener and always buying plants, potting mixes by the truck load, tools etc. So I don't bug here about that and she never comments on the heavy metal that the lovely blond female UPS driver brings to me.

Re: The Ultimate "Will the Wife Notice" Test

That's the way it is at my home....my wife can spend with the best of 'em, so she has no problem with anything I buy.....problem is, she is so good at spending (and our income is low to middlle), that I really should not spend too much on diecast. Being the thrifty person that I am, I do not spend a whole lot. Luckily, I started diecast collecting when we DID have a decent income, so picked up quite a bit back then.

Pappy, the fact that you can keep these things safely boxed and out of the way makes them easier to purchase... I don't think you can own too many diecasts. Hey, we could be out at the bar, or gambling, or shagging a real bit o' lace... but no, we are good boys collecting diecasts...

I am still looking for my dream FM B-17. Thought it was Give it to Uncle, then I liked Ike... not sure yet.

I tried that approach Ara but it didn't work, I told her that I dont drink smoke gamble or chase women so wheres the problem?

She claimed and most unfairly I think , that diecast is taking over the whole house and soon there wont even be any room for furniture.
Well I dont see any problem there and I am sure most of you gentlemen wouldn't have a problem with that.

Usually when a 1/16 Tiger I rumbles through the door with a 1/32 Corgi Mosquito hot on its heels ... I'm heading for cover.
