My deepest condolences, Louie. Your mother lives on in the lives she has touched. I'll keep your family in my prayers.

Re: a sad day today

Just remember a couple things:

Death (loss) is something you never get over; you get through.

Matthew 10
"28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul."

For the one who has gone on, its simply the next stage - with nothing to fear. While the body is dead, the soul lives on. At this point, the greatest suffering is experienced by those who are still in this world.

As others have mentioned, you and your family are in my family's prayers.

Take care,

I am very sorry for your loss. Like somone said above, always remember the good times.

Re: a sad day today

Louie,

Sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my Father suddenly and without warning. Our time here is really not that long, is it? Having lived through a heart attack at age 48, (5 years ago) I have learned to love everyone, and forgive everyone. May God bless you and your family during this time of loss. I believe that God takes care of everything, so, your mom is in good hands, and you will see her again. I have already prayed for you and the family.

Take care,

Philip

Re: a sad day today

Thanks again guys for the encouraging words and all prayers are definitely appreciated. She will be laid to rest on Saturday in the same grave as my sister who died tragically at age 34 in 2001. She was killed by her estranged boyfriend. He is now in a maximum security center where I hope he will not be too comfortable for the next 30 years.

MOTHER

You taught me how to love you by
The way you loved me
And by your unseen sustenance
To see what you could see

You gave me through who you were
The gift of who I am
Your pride in me is now my pride
Your faith my caravan

Your life does not conclude with death
Nor will it end with mine
For all the lives I touch, you touch
And so on through all time

You asked for very little
And gave more than you had
Now every time I think of you
I feel so very glad

That the world shared one so special
So thoughtful and so nice
God blessed me with your being
And I know he blessed you twice
