ebay and not showing bidder's names

I don't like this (relatively) new thing with ebay that doesn't let you see the bidder ids for auctions... what up with that? researching the competition was part of the fun!

What do y'all make of it.

Re: ebay and not showing bidder's names

I think the real reason they did it was so you could not contact the other bidders who lost..
There has been a few times i have lost a bid then 3 days later another sellers says they have the same plane and
Ebay says they do it to protect the bidders...
But what i don't like is the new feeedback ratings you can't give bad feedback to a deadbeat bidder anymore....But if they wanted to
the bidder can give you bad feedback in a heartbeat...Some sellers will get there perfect feedback score ruined i'm sure.

Yeah, that feedback thing seems like a bad deal too -- but it was wrong before, too, so not sure what the answer is. It was totally unfair that many of the big power sellers used feedback robots that merely gave the same feedback back to the buyer regardless.

Re: ebay and not showing bidder's names

IIRC, Ebay starting hiding bidders IDs because scammers were offering bogus "second chances" to losing bidders in hopes of getting CC info.
