| Re: Pics my two 1/18 classic GTO's import & domestic!!! Those look great, hey how come they can build a big and heavy and super detailed engine and interior, all kinds of little details and they look pretty darv accurate 1/8 scale diecast car and sell them for $20.00 to $40.00, yet a Century Wings Airplane which is not more detailed and while very nice tends to have little issues here and they needs to sell for $74.99 soon ????? I think Century may be pricing themselves out of business Biggie | |||||||||||||

Probably because Mattel can sell upwards of 50,000 of these with not much problem, whereas Century focuses on moving 2,000 units (any more would be fiscal suicide). Mattel probably owns their own factory, while Century has to source out to other manufacturers. It's the difference between big business (die cast cars) and a niche market (die cast planes), and it sucks for us.

| Re: Pics my two 1/18 classic GTO's import & domestic!!! The cars were not cheap, the Ferrari GTO runs about $65-$70 bucks new & the Pontiac GTO somewhere in the $130 range new, but I scored that one on Ebay used for $55 shipped. I will say that the GMP GTO blows away the Hot Wheels 288 GTO in detail. The HW Elite ED 288 GTO is a overall nice model on the outside but it's just a upgraded version of a mass market model you could by at a major retail store. The GMP GTO is handmade small production run limited edition model, they run anywhere from 300 to 3000 units depending on the model. The detail on the GMP GTO is nuts, there a lot of little stuff you cant see in the photos such as working sun visors, real carpet inside, all the correct little stickers & markings under the hood, in the door sills & trunk. It's one of those models where every time you look at it you see some other little detail you did not notice before, plus it''s big & heavy. Pics just don't do it justice. you have to see it & pick it up in person to know what I'm talking about. Even at it's $130 MSRP it;'s still well worth the $$ if your into cars & you know what your getting in terms of detail. As far as diecast models of all types go, my GMP goat has more detail than most high end diecast aircraft I have owned. Our diecast a/c are outstanding now & getting better everyday but a/c still have a little ways to catch up to some of whats been done in the car market, but I think we are well on the way there judging by the current efforts of HM, CW, C1 & EI. | |||||||||||||

Reason: addendum
Those look awesome. I especially like the engine on the Pontiac. Nice picture taking too. It's near impossible to tell the Pontiac isn't a real car.

| Great shots there Phantom Phan. I also collect the odd 1/18 scale car. I have some UT and Auto Art 911s and some Hotwheels F1 Ferraris. I also have UT F355 and Hotwheels F430. I've heard GMP do great US muscle cars, sweet. | |||||||||||||
