Re: Anticipating May tax refund to buy airplanes...not so fast!

G.M. has been using engines made in Mexico, and Transmissions from Brazil,at least since '76,thats when I ordered a new 350 for a customer and found it cast right on the side of the block! Re. V.W. starter issues, find another Dealer or Tech.,Bosch electrical parts virtually all come from Turkey and their Q.C. is top notch....Somebodys overlooking the obvious in their diagnostics.A new set of eyes and ears can work wonders on D#%#&@* auto electrical troubles, regardless of who built the beast. And yeah , it IS a CRV! 3rd Honda,I serviced 'em as an independent since the 70's, and Toyota is right there as well. Used to tell my customers to make their choice between the two based on what color they liked and if the Salesperson had nice looking legs.

Don't mean to turn this into a VW thread, but it went to 3 separate garages, starters were replaced, ignition switches, you name it, it was yanked. After quite a load of money, I dubbed the vee-dub junk and ditched it. Someone else I know that has the same type of Jetta is having electrical woes as well. VW = crap. It was funny when I traded it in at the VW dealership, the salesmen told me he couldn't give me much for trade because it had starting problems. Little did he know that the service department had it for 5 days (couldn't find anything wrong with it) and gave me a print out saying it was fine. The look on the salesman's face when I handed him the printout and told him the car was just fine according to his technicians, he offered me more than I paid for it in trade. Again, I'm content with my Hyundai. Sorry for the rant, but when you take your car to everyone but God and no one can fix it, it really makes one slightly irritated.

Not to be a stinker but ours came in at the start of May. Not spending it on diecast though. It is earmarked for either for a vacation or debt reduction.

Brunowbe, you ARE better off with the Hyundai,I was prejudiced against them back in the 80's when they had the track record of the Yugo (remember THAT little sweetie?) But they have certainly come into their own ! Common sense would tell me to save the Govt. money, but I went all of last year with NO INCOME while my ATTY. had to fight with MY govt. for my disability just because my disease was rare, and their statement was that I would either die or get better in a year, therefore no $ for a veteran Marine who paid into the system for 44 yrs. So damn the finances, full speed ahead!! I did talk the wife out of a new sofa, instead, and the goodie packages should arrive while shes at work,(praise her)!! so I will "ask for forgiveness, not permission". Mike with a smoking Mastercard
