Re: Models You Crave

I also look for the FM SR-71 from time to time and really want one but not for $200. I held one last year and looked it over good and it's just not worth all that to me.

How much are you willing to pay for one of these?

Re: Models You Crave

Jim, Jumblies is selling this model for 10 pounds + 17.5% UK tax, that would only apply to yourself. I purchased it today, Including postage, the cost was 15 pounds I added the B-17 Ballygally model for a total of $60 to me. (30 pounds). I thought it a small price to pay for procrastination. Go for it Jim, it's heritage plus.

Ooooh dear, I am just so short of space now I just cannot break my no jets rule.
My main interest is WW2, the only exceptions are 2 connies.
I have the Qantas Connie, thats the first diecast I bought plus I just had to have the Blue Angels Connie.

There are more than a few jets I would like plus several AFVs I have seen on this forum, I just have to be strong and stick to my limits.

Anyways Swoop I am glad you picked up a bargain, enjoy your Harrier, its the best invention since the Wright brothers took to the air.

God Bless America.

I am working on it JP, my latest scheme is to ask the managment if I can replace one of my cabinets with a larger one.

Its just a case of finding the right moment to strike!

Re: Models You Crave

Lets not forget the nice looking Phantoms that are coming out by HM.....
These are really worth to have in any collection..
WWII will always be my favorite era but these jets are pretty slick looking.
I have been trying to do a WWI , WWII , Korea , Vietnam collection ...

Why stop there JP -- toss in the Gulf War era just to be a "completest"

Re: Models You Crave

I satisfied one craving by getting the FAM Swordfish and the HMS Invincible Harrier. I just picked up the Gaincorp PLAAF SU-27 yesterday. I so wanted it after seeing pics on the Mule and Skidmarks. My local dealer had it and the craving continues. My latest craving seems to grow stronger for a HM Buffalo. I do not collect 1/48 except WW1 but I figure a pre/ear;y war yellow winged Buffalo will go nicely with the upcoming HM F3F and that brings me to another craving......... The Willow. I think IT will also sit nicely next to my WW1 bi-planes and my soon to be had Buffalo which again will go nicely with the HM F3F. I had not paid that much attention to the Marushin Willow but I like bi-planes and now have an excuse with the HM F3F to transcend 1/72. Does it ever stop?

My other constant cravings include the delectable F-4's coming from HM and the CW F-8's. I have hopes and dreams of a C1 Fokker DVII , Nieuport 17 (Nungessor) or Sopwith.

Slippery slope Louie, slippery slope...

There's only a couple models I'm craving right now -- couple HTF Franklin Mint fighters and a certain Corgi Spit with a Duck on it... but I've actually had the good sense not to pay through the nose for 'em very recently. So my craving continues.... is this a sign of maturity, or simply the unwanted effects of too much flu meds?

I wonder...

There was a song back in the early 80's by Hall-n-Oats that had a title that sums the condition up nicely.

Re: Models You Crave

The ones I really would like to have, shoot P-36 would probably have the best chance. Other than that, have to kit bash some of my other favorites.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.
