Buyer beware on EBAY

I just ran across this auction as well as others this seller has for Corgi Airplanes. He is listing them as 1:72 scale, but they do not appear to be 1:72 scale. They look to be from the showcase collection.

Corgi P-51D Mustang "Bunnie", 100th FS Tuskegee Airmen - eBay (item 200220622430 end time May-07-08 18:21:16 PDT)

I hope I am wrong, but I fear that I am not. I only hope that those who are bidding on these know what they are getting.

If that Mustang pictured is 1/72 then I'll eat my shoes. That's the close to 1/144 scale Showcase Mustang and this guy knows it. If he had a curio filled with "a dozen of it's WWII companions" then he must be a collector and definitely knows better!

Another Ebayer name to add to my "do not deal with" list.

Re: Buyer beware on EBAY

for kicks I emailed the seller and informed him of the error -- he responded right away and it seems like an honest mistake, we'll see if he changes the listings.

Well Pappy....2 1/2 hours after you posted this, and it still claims it's 1:72!

Here's his reply -- he first asked me to explain the "problem" further and I did, sending him Tri's site as a reference... we shall see. But my attempted good deed for the day is done

I can't thank you enough! Seriously, I got some bad advice regarding the scale. I will go correct and inform those bidding right now. Again, thank you for being such a great Ebayer and informant. I am very grateful. Dermshrink

You have to wonder how someone would bid like that, given the photos....
