Too many real airplanes still need to be done.

Eventhough I like weird and obscure planes my priority would be to weird planes that actually flew.

I have the one in the picture, fileasfog, bought it for a around $3 at a garage sale, a plastic model someone put together and painted. What is it?

It looks to be a de Havilland D.H.89 Dragon Rapide.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Would you buy diecast Luftwaffe X-planes?

The He162 Volksjager variants would be welcome as would the Horten flying wing & long range jet bomber Ho XVIII B

The He162 flew war-time operations with I/JG1, so I we can not call it a X-Plane

But you are right, such a fighter would make a nice addition to a collection

If it did not fly in combat then I do not want it.

Re: Would you buy diecast Luftwaffe X-planes?

I would love to add some Luftwaffe x-planes to my collection. In fact, it'd be great to get some USAF and RAF x-planes out there too. I'm sure that they would sell - especially Luftwaffe birds. I don't mind whether or not a particular plane saw action, but I do mind if it was just a paper plane that wasn't even built in mock-up form.

Sadly, though, there are so many important warbirds that have not been released by the major manufacturers. I would rather see war-winning birds built than experimental ones that made no contribution to the war effort other than to sap resources.

I agree with ChairmanMilo, I love x-planes of all stripes, paper or not. I would also rather see the many aircraft that saw service and made a contribution be produced before any x-planes. A 1/48 X-85 Goblin with it's dolley would be really cool though IMHO!
