Unhappy Passing of an AVG pilot

I finally made it back to MH2, It has been along 5 months working with my daughter. Unfortunately I do bring some sad news. John "Dick" Rossi passed away on April 17th. I had a the good fortune to chat with him about his days with the AVG and the P-40's. He would argue that the P-40 was the best fighter in the Pacific theatre. He was with the 1st squadron "Adam n Eves" as Flight leader with 6.25 victories.
Figarti made a model of his plane....Figarti 1/32nd P-40 "Flying Tiger"

He was also Co-founder and pilot for Flying Tiger Airlines.

These links are brief bio's about him.

Re: Passing of an AVG pilot

It is a shame to see another WW2 veteran pass on. The AVG flew against a veteran group of Japanese pilots and bested them in the P-40, with an incredible kill ratio of 11 to 1, with virtually no spare parts and no significant training in the P-40. Dick Rossi was a phenomenal pilot with a great group of pilots.

Looking forward to annoying the 'former' Florida Diecast Forum members!!
