Is this the tower?
This is the second control tower which Lt. Robert Frascotti was killed when his P-51 Mustang collided with the control tower on take-off...
He had completed 89 combat missions with the famous 352nd Fighter Group.

More current pictures of the tower

George Preddy was......Just the greatest fighter pilot who ever squinted through a gunsight.
He was a complete fighter pilot.......Colonel John C. Meyer Deputy Commander of the 352nd.

Jim, there are methods to convert negatives to a digital format and put the images on a CD. Most photo shops as well as chain drug stores/variety stores, large discount stores (like Wal Mart, Sam's Club, Costco/Price Club- all places in the U.S.), etc. I don't think it costs much more than the cost of getting the film developed.

Hello Old Crow, not a bad deal, the photos (7x5) and a CD only cost $18.
I took the camera down to the local store and in 20 minutes I had the photos and also a CD.

That was the easy part, I have wasted about an hour trying to upload from the CD to my computer without any luck.

When I try to transfer the images from the disc to the computer the durn thing freezes and nothing works!
I am something of a Homer Simpson figure when it comes to computers but I shall persevere and win through in the end.
Photos will be posted.
I think a quick phone call to my son is in order, he taught me all I know !!!

BTW the photos are not so bad considering I used a $4.00 disposable camera.

God Bless America.

Re: Bodney !

Very cool, Jim.

Can't wait to see them and read some more of the history. By the way, I find your narratives very engaging so please post more. Heck, i would love to see more pics from other journeys in the UK and Europe.
