C130 Vs. Bald Eagle

This one's for the birds ...

This USAF C-130 was minding its own business flying comfortably over Tacoma, Washington, when a Bald Eagle mistook it for a bloody big female eagle. Misjudged the plane's speed, too.

Afterward, the C-130 commander requested a change of pants.

It isn't faith that makes good science, Mr. Klaatu, it's curiosity. Sit down, please. There are several thousand questions I'd like to ask you.

Re: C130 Vs. Bald Eagle

I thought that eagles had great eyesight. Perhaps I was wrong and they hunt mostly by smell.

Re: C130 Vs. Bald Eagle

That would definatly scare the hell out of me.

Then I would simply get the airplane under contol and flying level again. All in a day's work I guess.

The one really pissed off would have to be the airman who has to clean everything.

Re: C130 Vs. Bald Eagle

Looks like a bird strike but that eagles head looks photoshopped. If he hit head first it would not look intact at that velocity....................................

Re: C130 Vs. Bald Eagle

the head looks real to me, maybe the bird realised its mistake and tried to take evasive action at the last second, that could explain the non head on collision point,
