You talkin' 'bout MY scooter? <BOOM>

I'm looking into maxi-scooters and motors as alternative transportation and came across this little gem:

That's a 75mm recoilless rifle mounted on that little Vespa scooter. Apparently this is a French invention (surprise ) for their airborne troops and did see deployment. I need one of these for my commuting! Blue-hair driving too slow? Punk kid cut you off? The possibilities are endless!

Here's a link to the web site that has the story and additional pics of the Vespa if you are interested: Gun-totin' Vespa
I wonder if I could get a German Vespa with an 88 mounted on it?

Oh I love it! Would love to have it here in Orlando for use on I-4 with the traffic. Would be great for the high road-rage and car-jackers here too!

Thanks so much for posting that picture. Definietly in the catagory of strangest beast ever.

The article isn't really clear about the deployment history of the bike. Anyone have any idea how long they were used?

Anything for a weird life.

In the early 80's our local Motorcycle shop used to sell Russian Ural bikes complete with sidecar, these were made to Soviet Army spec so they still had a machine gun mount fitted to the 'bonnet' of the sidecar. I was told the MG was not an optional extra

I believe these were reverse engineered BMW outfits that were captured during WW2, a friend of mine bought one in the late 1970s the tool kit came in a crate six feet long & two feet wide it even contained a plough attachment.

The spare wheel (carried in the back of the chair) could be used to replace any of the 3 wheels (so I was told), they were only $AU1800 at the time. I opted for a Jap multi instead
