Re: An impressive question from a twelve year old.

My wife teaches children with special needs including several that have Aspergers Syndrome. Apparently a significant proportion of them have a shorter than average index finger (2nd digit) in relation to their ring finger (4th digit) which some scienists say is due to a higher than average concentration of male hormones in the womb: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digit_ratio

Re: An impressive question from a twelve year old.

Well my 5 year old grandson has his sights set closer to home. When I told him I was taking him to a Pittsburgh Pirates game this weekend, he asked, "You mean with swords and everything?"

You mean baseball has swords now?! Sweeeet! I'm takin' the rest of the day off to head to Dodgers Stadium right now! Keep those base-stealers in their place! My money's on the Pirates to go all the way -- they've got the history. Oh, if only they'd go up against the Mariners: Avast! Just where d'ye think ye be goin', DH?

Funny, though: I was at a game just a little more than two weeks ago, and I didn't see any swords... There were explosives, though. After the game. In the sky.

Is that a biscuit?

It's what I believe you call a fig roll, jim. At least, according to Wikipedia, which, as you know, is infallible.
I'll swap you a package of good ol' Nabisco Fig Newtons (motto: They accelerate at 9.8 m/s2 -- into your mouth!) for, ummm... say, what's good in English cuisine? Do fish and chips travel well?

Sad to say Mustangdriver I remember Lockheed Constellations as front line aircraft! Aer Lingus had them on their trans Atlantic route before being replaced by Boeing 707s. The 'Connie' was a beautiful & graceful aircraft and probably the most attractive of the post war 4 motors IMHO. Until somebody tells me differently!

No argument here.....They were in a class of their own. None of the others could hold a candle to the Connie (at least asthetically speaking)

Sadly no, you have to eat em straight from the frier with lots of salt n vinegar. Even better with mushy peas.

Mushy has a different meaning in Germany so I am told

Re Connie, definately the best looking lady of the skies, imho.

Re: An impressive question from a twelve year old.

In the Queen's English, a Fig Newton would be considered a biscuit. We in the colonies call them a "cookie". A Fig Newton consists of a chewy sweet fig filling wrapped in a nearly cake-like outer layer. I like 'em.

Re: An impressive question from a twelve year old.

No it's "Fruited Cake"

There used to be a Fig Newton TV commercial a few years back where a proper English woman was flummoxed by a Fig Newton. After tasting one she resolved that it was "Fruited Cake". I find them quite tasty - we have little ones and they like them also.

Now, I'm with Skunky, let's get back to taking about man dollies and strafing cats! Love that!

Re: An impressive question from a twelve year old.

Wow, from the science of space to biscuits, that was a segue that I didn't see coming.
