| Perfect diecast?? Popicock I say!! Ok it seems with every release or expected release, it gets torn apart from the get go. So I want to know what diecast plane is perfect. I want pictures and an explaination as to why its the bees knees. I'm just not convinced there is a "perfect" diecast model out there. Way too much huff and puff for toys gentlemen. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Perfect diecast?? Popicock I say!! I don't have the perfect diecast as of yet....But some are pretty darn close to it. My Century Wings F-14 is close to being perfect for a modern fighter and Carousel1 for past warbirds. JP | |||||||||||||

| Re: Perfect diecast?? Popicock I say!! I'm just not educated enough about the rivets to really know if most models are "perfect" or not. Given that disclaimer, I'd say my Corgi FAA Swordfish may be the closest thing to a perfect model I own. Not a single manufacturing blemish that I can see, of course, now I'll probably find out that the framus is where the fritzis should be. Generally I'm looking for representations not museum replicas, so I'm able to put up with far more gaffs than your average collector, I suspect. So I will abstain from posting pics and a defense for it's "pefectness". | |||||||||||||

| Re: Perfect diecast?? Popicock I say!! I will bite on this one and say that Dragon's 1/72 Abrams and HMMWV are about as perfect as you will find in a diecast model that small. Dragon even paints the vision blocks on their 1/72 scale...which FOV does not do on their 1/32 scale! | |||||||||||||

| Re: Perfect diecast?? Popicock I say!! I would have to go with Hobby Masters Brewster Buffalos. Went over the ones I have pretty thoroughly and really found only some minor issues. | |||||||||||||
| Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: Perfect diecast?? Popicock I say!! IMHO, FOV's 1/16 Tiger I and King Tiger are as close to personal perfection as I'll ever see! As for aircraft, I know people are going to disagree but the HM 1/32 Dauntless is pretty close (excluding price consideration, included figures and the drooping prop due to it being metal). My Dauntless doesn't have gap issues or, as far as I'm concerned, glaring inaccuracies in the overall look. To me, it simply looks the way I think an SBD should look shruken down to 1/32 scale! It's main issues seem to be heft (I think it's heavy enough personally), the price tag, the scale of the pilot and gunner, and the droopy prop. There weren't any of the usual gap, inaccuracy, paint or even QC issues (besides the prop and this was more of an metal content/ambitiousness issue on HM's part). Anyway, those are my personal picks...........your actual mileage and options may vary. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Perfect diecast?? Popicock I say!! I guess this needs to be broken down into aircraft and armor for me, since I own an equal quantity of both. Starting with aircraft, the 1/72nd scale, Gemini Aces, Spitfire Mk IX, flown by Frances Gabreski, is a phenomenal piece in every way, shape, or form!! With armor, I would give the nod to my HobbyMaster, 1/48th scale, Soviet IS-2 tank!! ![]() | |||||||||||||

I agree fully with all the sentiments expressed in the above quotes . That said, I truly believe that my GMP aircraft, Minichamps armour and Carousel 1 aircraft are the closest thing to 'perfection' that one can get | ||||||||||||||||
