Shipping to Aus

I have managed to find a very nice FW190 D9 pre-built kit.The model is a 1:48 Hasegawa.

My qeustion is what would be a resonable shipping cost to Aus.I realise that packing would be more substantual than normal but have been quoted at 100 plus.I would appreciate your thoughts.

Re: Shipping to Aus

That sounds too dear - you could buy a Carousel1 Dora & have that shipped for less than $100AUD

The postal costs are mostly based on weight and with a substantial box and plenty of foam chips and shredded paper this would still weigh less than a smaller diecast.

Personally I would not spend that much on a 1/48 plastic kit

Re: Shipping to Aus

G'day Mr MkVB

I'm with Mr 11SqnLDR, that sounds way to expensive.

Cheers CKS1

Re: Shipping to Aus

I purchased a GMP P-40 Kittyhawk off an EBay dealer last night. Bearing in mind this is a heavy 1/35 scale model & the shipping from the US was $44-50US.

Feel free to drop me a PM if I can help you locate a Carousel1 FW-190D in 1/48. Not only are these ltd editions & of course ready made, but they are amazingly detailed & highly regarded.

Re: Shipping to Aus

Mkvb, the shipping you've been quoted is indeed excessive. Even the Carousel 1 FW190Ds (three of the finest diecast models ever made in 1/48), which come in large boxes, tend to only cost approx. $26-$34 to ship from the US (each) .

Re: Shipping to Aus

Thanks for all the input lads.I will give it a miss.Shame really as it was very nice looking model and if the shipping was abit more reasonable then maybe things would have been different. The C1's are looking pretty good but would prefer to see a grey mottled version.Perhaps one day.

I will be in touch 11 Sqd but not for a week as I am heading away up north for a weeks R/R.Not sure what the reception will be like for my laptop until I get there.

Re: Shipping to Aus

The Mule only charged me $US120 to get a FOV 1/16 Wittmann Tiger shipped over to Oz in 7 days.

I would have thought shipping for the FW190 D9 would be $US30 max
