Definitive proof of the existence of the Aurora reconnaissance aircraft

Here it is, folks- definite photo proof that the Aurora recon plane not only exists, but has for some time. Apparently, these things have been flying out of bases in Canada...

Of course you must remember we Canadians are world leaders in building new technology,...... and then foisting it off on unsuspecting, gullible wannabes.

Wow, haven't seen this in a long time. Last time I was at that museum (late 70's or very early 80's) it was displayed on the ground, IIRC. Have to go back there and check it out (along with what's left of the Reserve Fleet on the James River).

Back in those days the sign used to say that it was built in Indiana. That was corrected. Great little museum at Fort Eustis. Reserve Fleet is cool to tour as well. That nuclear cargo vessel was also mothballed there. Cannot remember name.

The Savannah?
There have been lots of cool ships laid up at various points around Tidewater over the years. The USS Triton sat over at NNSY for years after decommissioning. I want to say it was at St Julien's Creek Annex, but I can't swear to it.

Savannah, that was it. I managed to get taken out on a tour of the Reserve Fleet back in the 80's Have lots of pix of that trip and some of the other pylon sitters on the Fort.

It's in pretty dire straits. They attempted to "restore" it around 2000, but had just got it really apart when 9/11 happened and they lost their workspace. It's in pieces and is in a generally poor state. The other Avrocar (the wind tunnel, non-"flown" one) has been moved from the Smithsonian to the Air Force Museum.

Was the picture of the Arvo Air Car above taken at the Quantico Air Museum? I vaguely remember something similar being displayed there, but it's been since the late 70s since I've been there.
