Final Countdown-The Movie

Just got the dvd in today from eBay and just finished watching it. I seen it along time ago. How cool is watching the Jolly Rogers Tomcats, A-6 & A-7's and Hawkeyes from the USS Nimitz. Loved the Toms splashing the two White Zeros also.

Re: Final Countdown-The Movie

One of the best movies of the 80's.

And quite possibly one of the best lines ever was one F-14 pilot to another "Why the hell are we playing with these guys" and for those of you who know the movie, know what I am talking about.

Re: Final Countdown-The Movie

Dude, you have to burn me a copy of that movie pretty pleeeeeeze. Pssst, don't forget TM tomorrow check out that doohickey and let me know if I need to grab one. Oh yeah, I took the new diamondbacks Corsair home and put it together and all I can say is ...........you will really realy be glad you bought one. I hated the orange when I saw the pics on-line. In person this little fighter rocks the house. I think all the colors break a rather mundane naval air color assemblage. Mike the AJ400 is for you. If you can burn me a copy I'll pay you. If not I'll have to scrounge for a copy.

Re: Final Countdown-The Movie

I really enjoyed that film. Its been so long since I've seen it. (I thought the ending was pretty cool as well - the time travel "twist" once back in the present time.)

Re: Final Countdown-The Movie

They need to do an alternate ending showing the Japanese Task Force being wasted by the modern jets. I don't know how you'd write up the rest of the story, but I do remember wanting to see those Modern birds slaughter the Japanese. Man that would be great!!!

Yeah always pissed me off when they turned the airfleet around. Guess it would raise too many possibilities of what the future would have been. Hey time for the re-makes part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, how many Rockys were made?

Re: Final Countdown-The Movie

Man, it was great watching the movie on the new 52" LCD in surround-sound. Clear as a bell too, despite the movie is from 1980, it has been re-mastered. The dvd was released in 2004. Loved the Diamondback A-7E Corsair "Black 400", the NEW release by Centery Wings (589308), with the orange diamonds . BUT I did notice that the same plane in the movie has the diamonds on the tail ALL ORANGE and not different colors like CW has protrayed. Did CW get it wrong with this?
