What military commands currently exist in the former East Germany?

I've wondereed about this and maybe someone here can shed some light on it. How were the American, British and French military commands in the former West Germany affected by the unification of Germany? Are there any permanent American, British or French military bases in the territory of the former East Germany, as there were in the former West Germany, or are there just Bundeswehr (German) bases there now?
A permanent French presence on the ground would surprise me, since the area is not contiguous to France.
What about the former West Berlin? Do the three "allies" still maintain military forces there?

Re: What military commands currently exist in the former East Germany?

I don't know when the French pulled out of Germany, probably when they left NATO. I'm not even sure if the Brits (BAOR) were still stationed up North in '92 when I got there. The US Berlin Brigade disbanded shortly after I arrived in Germany, I'll bet the others did too. I seem to recall a big ceremony for it.
Since I was lucky enough to get into a LRSU outfit I didn't end up in Berlin. But sometimes I wish I had, we picked up a few of thier guys when the unit cased its colors. I'd suspect that the Bundeswehr has occupied few and closed many of the former DDR Kasernes.

I don't belive that the British have anything in the former eastern Germany, and their strnght has been cut constderably since the end of the cold war. Here is a wiki for their current structure:

Ooops!

"Also, no foreign armed forces and nuclear weapons or their carriers would be stationed in former East Germany or deployed there, making it a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone."

Nuclear weapon free maybe. But from what I remember the DDR and other former baddies had some real lax enviornmental standards. Lots a toxic stuff left behind when the wall came down. Thats why Czech and Poland look good for future training areas. The land is already so far gone, they can do some real training and quit worrying about red headed woodpeckers and the like.
