Re: Wings Over Elburn -- anyone home?

I tried in aug/sept. 07. NOTHING. No answer. no returned emails. I even tried calling/contacting the local (Elburn) chamber of commerce to see if they were still in business..

I even got an automatic email confirmation of my order. (no credit card charged - thankfully) No order shipped.

Sorry for the bad news.

I think they are done - unless they've re-opened since my experience.

[Being a little paranoid myself - I'd keep double checking your credit card to make sure you weren't charged.]

Re: Wings Over Elburn -- anyone home?

I've dealt with them almost 3 years ago when I ordered some Corgi Stukas. I got them all received. When I tried to inquire about the FM 1/48 P-51B flown by Overstreet lastyear around Sept., I got no response whatsover. Sorry Pappy...I wished you had inquired about them alot earlier......

No dice with this place. Not open! No response. Don't even bother. Got my hopes up a year or so ago too.

Doser and I tried again to get the Phantom you may remember.

Leigh-Mallory and his big wings! Might as well stay on the ground for all the use they are!

How bizarre -- they come up in all the google searches and the site looked reasonable current... guess I might end up paying for my itchy trigger finger. Don't recall the phantom deal -- Annette?

Re: Wings Over Elburn -- anyone home?

There are some sites that are no longer in business.....So their sites are still up due to the site fees being paid up to a year in advanced.
Not sure about this company but there was one about a year ago that i found a 1:18 corsair and got a confirmation email and nothing ever
came my CC was never charged...I left phone messages and email and zip..I did get a hold of the webmaster to that site and he was the one that told me about
them being out of business and they fixed it where you can no longer fill up your cart on the site...7 months later the site was gone.
I notice on the Wings over Elburn the site was last modified: February 19, 2007....Over a year ago.

Yeah, while it shouldn't be up to me to have to hunt down teh fine print of the last modified data... I shoulda known better. It did accept my paypal payment though, and the seller is verified through paypal... but I should be able to get the $ back, it will just take a while.

And that's just ludicrous that they would leave the site up since it's paid and pull the plug the biz otherwise... I mean like how much effort does it take to take the site down... not much.

Re: Wings Over Elburn -- anyone home?

Never ordered from an online site that was no longer operating but..................................this past summer I did drive 1 1/2 hours away to a "store" listed on Corgi USA's website as being an authorized dealer to find that it was no longer open. It took an additional 1/2 hour just to find the site of the former store, it was at somebody's personal residence on a side building. They laughed about it and said that they had closed their shop about a year ago and didn't realize they were still listed on the internet. What a waste of gas. My dad who went with me never lets me live that one down.
