Re: Attention New Collectors

Actually I do think the new Jolly Rogers F14 Tomcat will become as 'collectible' as the first releases and if not - WHO CARES! At least those collectors who want the JR livery will be able to buy one without being fleeced with over-inflated aftermarket prices.

In all possibility, the Black Aces (already sold out) and Grim Reaper versions will also become increasingly sought after and rare (I suspect that the Grim Reaper version will be sold out within the next couple of months) and prices will only increase. Complaining that this new release will devalue the JR market is perhaps partially true, but I would sincerely hope that those who feel that way realise that many collectors missed out on the first release and are extremely happy with the announcement ... one wouldn't want to accuse anyone of selfishness now, would we?

Re: Attention New Collectors

At the very least one of those two will battle for the top spot - I (will) have both so I can later decide which I want to keep as my single representative of the F-14. I said I'd never move beyond WWII until CW came out with my beloved Tomcat - but then I had to have a Phantom since I grew up in awe of them flying over my house and then the A-10s that flew over the house and then the A-7 because.... well, it was cool. It never ends but you can't go wrong with either of the two you submit as the most desired Louie/Elmer.

How could I forget VX-4 Vandy 1!!!!??? This is also a 1,000 piece run. Seems to be highly valued everywhere. Just look at the long threads here and on DAF. When I learned some were still available through HLJ, I pulled the trigger, and I am glad I did. This one is BEAUTIFUL... equally as beautiful as my JR, if not more so. And it seems that since this one was an exclusive Japan release, it may also be more highly valued in the future than the JRs. So... which is most desirable: VF-84? VF-41? VX-4? Maybe we should start a poll???

Re: Attention New Collectors

Wether its collectible or not. Im glad that CW decides to reissue them, already preordered mine, and Im looking forward to it. and depending on the budget, maybe I will get an extra. but I though think that the VF-41 is the still the TOMCAT to own.
