How do you find out which models of planes were ever made?

Hi

How do you find out which models of a plane in your scale were ever made?
I have started reading about all the different variants for the Russian MIG-21, and would like to find out what is out there in the diecast field. The ones I can't find I could eventually build.
This doesn't just apply to the MIG-21, I am going to research a lot more aircraft.

Thanks a lot

Patrick

Well, you can start your own list from what you see on internet like I've done when I first started. However, it is time consuming and you will find only 90-95% of what was made. The easiest way is to buy catalogs, that way you have an even better reference.

You can also ask around for a specific model. People on this forum have pretty good knowledge.

Good luck

Hi

That's what I have been doing so far, research and some more research and update my personal database. Time consuming but fun.

Merci mon ami

If you hang around here for too long you will soon find that you , somehow have bought them all.

Did my wife tell you to say that?

Thumbs up Re: How do you find out which models of planes were ever made?

For Corgi, the obvious is the Tricatus site. You will find 99.9% of what Corgi has pumped out there. The last .01% may well be some special that slipped under Tim's radar. But you are aware of this place already, right?

The rest is a combination of: Hanging around here, trolling eBay, Google and catalogues. All the fun stuff of a hobby -- the thrill of the chase, as they say, yes?!

Yes I do know about Tricatus. I appreciate the post. The hunt is on!
