| How are the "Tribute to valor" planes? Hi I believe these are plastic. How do they look? I can't find nothing about them online, no reviews anywhere. Grumman F4F Wildcat Curtiss P-36A Are there any others in 1/72? Thanks a lot Patrick | |||||||||||||

| Re: How are the "Tribute to valor" planes? As far as I know, those are the only two produced. I have the Wildcat and like it just fine. I know one of the members here has the P-36. Sometine ago, I believe on MH1, these two were discussed, and the comments were fairly positive for the F4F, but rather critical of the Curtiss | |||||||||||||

They are plastic models and a bit on the crude side. Until somebody comes out with a diecast Curtiss P-36 they are the only game in town. ![]()

I have their P-36 and it's OK for a plastic replica, however, the panel lines tend to be overdone and there are visible gaps where the top and bottom portions of the wings are joined.

| Re: How are the "Tribute to valor" planes? Thanks everyone for the answers. I figured they were dogs, but I see I was wrong. Cruver, nobody really makes the P-36 other than this one? Why not? What are they waiting for? Thanks again Patrick | ||||||||||||||

| Re: How are the "Tribute to valor" planes?
That is the only P-36 that is currently put out. I would really like for someone like Hobby Master or Corgi to put out a nice Curtiss P-36/ Hawk 75. The plane has some many potential paint schemes to work with. It is one of the aircraft that is on the top of my wishlist of what I would like to see made in diecast. On the Hobby Master section there is a pretty exstensive thread that has some pictures of the P-36 variants forum members would like to see done.

I always wonder if diecast makers in our case, browse these forums and see what could sell, what makes us mad (Parts not fitting or poor instructions as far as I am concerned.), what we say in general about them and so on..... Patrick

| Re: How are the "Tribute to valor" planes?
We do have a forum member who passes on our inputs to Hobby Master. hawkonevoodoo (Hawk for short) has been great about passing on requests and inputs from forum members. Best part is that Hobby Master has actually acted upon these suggestions and inputs. Not so sure if the other companies are actively monitoring this site, but they sure could benefit from doing so. As far as Hobby Master goes, well Hawk has been huge help in passing on our suggestions and inputs.

| Re: How are the "Tribute to valor" planes? Sorry to reply in this 3 months old thread...if it's against the rules, then sorry I just posted a review for the P-36 on my site for those interested: Curtiss P-36 Hawk It's really nothing special, but it looks ok next to the other navy planes...wish HM would do one in 1/72
it's not 1/144 I'm afraid..one of the reasons why I didn't buy it...hopefully Altaya shall release a 1/144 version of the B-17C
