Anyone ever been to Flightdeck Air Combat Center?

Wondering if anyone here has been to Flightdeck Air Combat Center in Anaheim California. I'm thinking of taking my brother's bachelor party there for one of our activities. I'd previously taken my best friend's bachelor party (about 15 guys) to Speedzone (high performance indoor gocart racing) and it was actually pretty fun.

Flightdeck looks like fun too and the price is reasonable. Heck, I might just go for a testrun before the event! If anyone has been there or to something similar, please post comments.

Thanks!

Re: Anyone ever been to Flightdeck Air Combat Center?

Trex,

I would definatly do the test run first. This looks just like the combat simulation I did at Pensacola Naval Air Station Aviation Museum last year. To me it was nothing but a glorified computer air combat, but instead of justing sitting at your desk looking at a computer monitor, you are seated in a cockpit and have a big screen in front of you. I do not remember, but I don't even think we were full motion. Also, I found the controls were not very responsive, most likely because of the many thousands of people who were in there before me. And putting on the flight suit to me is kind of ridiculous and mostly for show.

Some of the other guys might not really care for it, unless they are die hard fighter type jocks, and then they will most likely be disappointed.

And, I only paid $20.00 for my session which included about 25 minutes of acutal flight and about 20 minutes of preflight information.

I do not mean to bust your hopes, but I do recommend you do the test run. I would hate for everyone to get there and spend a lot of money, when you could take that same money and really have some fun.

Just wish I could join you, it has been at least 10 years since I went on a good bachelor party.

Thanks Sky! I will definitely do the test run then. Just thought it might be similar to Speedzone. That was a blast with a dozen + guys tearing up the track! Well if this doesn't turn out then well have to go to plan B....Vegas (with a trip to the machine gun firing range) and Perris Valley indoor skydive wind chamber!

Trex, my most fervent suggestion is to treat your bro with this instead: .::Fighter Pilot for a Day - AirCombat Flying Adventures::.

I have seen those on a TV programme over here, I think it looks like the most crazy cool sick making fun ever, outside the military.

I wish I had the money.

Fly...guys, thanks for the suggestions! I might have to see about the AirCombat Flying Adventures but only if I can get in on it too (hey I can't do all the dirty work for nothing!).
