Thanks Sky! I will definitely do the test run then. Just thought it might be similar to Speedzone. That was a blast with a dozen + guys tearing up the track! Well if this doesn't turn out then well have to go to plan B....Vegas (with a trip to the machine gun firing range) and Perris Valley indoor skydive wind chamber! |
Machine Gun Firing Range and an Indoor Skydive Wind Chamber, now THAT sounds like fun!
As far as the aerial combat, I got to do that for FREE, did you hear me, I said FREE about 9 years ago with a company in Atlanta. One of my neighbors was an old F-4 pilot flying for Delta who became one of their pilots for fun. They sent three T-34 Mentor's from Atlanta to Space Camp in Alabama for a group of guy's wanting to do air combat. Since my friend had a seat available, he asked me if I wanted to go. HELL YES I want to go was my answer. And, it was FREE. Now remember, I fly mostly 172's and warrior's and had about 1.5 hours in a T-34 that I flew when I was a member of the Navy Flying Club out of Naval Air Station in Atlanta. We took off from Atlanta in formation with me flying the front seat. During our flight down to Alabama, I personally got to do loops, aileron rolls, formation flying, and air combat. On the way back to Atlanta, we flew through a valley in the mountains one behind the other and over a lake at 50'. I am sure the fishermen and other boats on the lake did not appreciate that. But that is why the N numbers on the plane were specifically as small as they could be. No one could identify us. This truly was an amazing time. I got to log almost 6 hours as Pilot in Command, and it did not cost me a thing. Sadly, several years ago, this same company was doing an air combat and one of the wings on one of the planes separated and both the pilot and client were killed, which killed this company and put it out of business.
In any case, this is something I highly recommend to anyone. The only problem, is it is expensive as hell, and there is no way I could have afforded to do it if I had to pay for it. So even thought I doubt you will see this, a big thanks to my buddy Richard K. who took me along for the ride of my life.
