| No doubt that the Do 17Z, A20, A26, to name a few, would sale as well as the He 111, Ju 88, B25.(With the G4M and P61 not far behind...) The same could be said of the SB2C, Skyraider, D3A, compared to the SBD, TBM, B5N. | |||||||||||||

| Re: What Do Diecast Marketers Have Against these Aircraft?
Oh yeah! I have both of them from a 1/72 plastic kit I built about 15 years ago. I love the long wings on the TA-152 and the Gotha Go-229 looks very cool, like a bat wing with a big front tire. But I am afraid that only way you will see these are if you build a plastic kit yourself like I did. ![]()

| Re: What Do Diecast Marketers Have Against these Aircraft? I really don't think that diecast manufacturers have anything against the aircraft already mentioned on this thread. I think that the majority of their thought process involves marketing to the general public. How well will these aircraft sell in certain markets and to specific age groups are the 2 main questions that these companies have to answer. My prediction is that either HobbyMaster or Altaya/IXO would be the first 2 manufacturers to take this chance since both companies have taken huge risks by producing rare/obscure/unpopular aircraft in the past. | |||||||||||||

| Re: What Do Diecast Marketers Have Against these Aircraft?
Funny enough; that kit used to command 'big-dollars' (& a lot of interest) on the second-hand market....... That was until THE SAME MOULD got 're-released' in a Italeri box, at about 1/3rd the price !!!!!!!!! I bought mine for £6 in a Sale at Lakeside (Beatties) in the late 1990's. My mate who builds models for books & magazines (his Fw.190's are featured in the Geoff-Coughlin/190/ 'Osprey' book) drove from London to Birmingham, & paid £40 for his 1st DML '152 Italeri done precisely the same thing with the 'Accurate-Miniatures' TBM-Avenger in 1/48th (as I have several of both !!!!!!) The 'originals' were dear (with better packaging) - yet the Italeri 're-release' was a mere £13.99 WONDERFUL !!!!!!!!!!!
