Re: What Do Diecast Marketers Have Against these Aircraft?

Yeah the ones you mentioned that have been released are nice. I just hope that sales don't tank and they start to pull in their wings to safer models. I collect Spits etc but one does need variety to round out a collection.

Not sure if they will ever put one out, but sure would like the folks at Corgi to put out this Spitfire.

Frankly, I dont see any sensible reason why this plane has been ignored for so long.

3) DO-17Z

I'm using your words, Epz' - cause this GLARING omission baffles me

= Really does.

So many DIFFERENT schemes & SUCH an important combat-aircraft in WW.II.........

ALWAYS OVERLOOKED !!!!!!!!

A MAJOR player in the Battle Of Poland/France/Britain

They were STILL digging up bombs that (K.G.3) Do.17-Z's had dropped on Hornchurch (Spitfire-base) in 1998 !!!!!!!!!!

Could also do a Balkans/Russian-front (winter-scheme), or even a Finnish beauty like this............

It would probably sell. But since they only made 4 and 3 of them were converted back, I don't see it happening. I would get 1.

Like the Finnish paint scheme. I watched a movie today that several shots of Finnish Do 17s flying in formation.

Might get a couple of paint schemes, but one would do for me.

My top 3 picks are:
1. Helldiver
2. Devastator
3. Black Widow

Thumbs up Re: What Do Diecast Marketers Have Against these Aircraft?

There is NO serious reason for manufacturers not to consider making most of the models listed above (in 1/72 or 1/48).

The exceptions are the esoteric Horten flying wings and P59 (commercial suicide imho), and for obvious reasons the B47, B36 and B29, wich can only be made at a much smaller scale...

Re: What Do Diecast Marketers Have Against these Aircraft?

I assume one of the reasons for the omissions has to do with various degrees of perceived commercial acceptance. The other is, some aircraft MAY already be in the historical-research phase but simply haven't been announced yet. Just guessing here.

Another nice group of aircraft would be 1930 air racers like those at the Cleveland Air Races.
