458th Bombardment Group Web Site

I came across this while doing some research on Bomber Assembly Ships and thought you guys might like to see it.

I found it both very interesting, informative, and ultimatly sad in reading some of the stories. I honestly don't know if I will ever truly appreciate the sacrifices those young men gave during World War II, or any member of the armed forces at any time.

Re: 458th Bombardment Group Web Site

The site has been posted in my signature since I joined this forum. Check out the Nelson Crew. It's me uncle's.

The site is owned and maintained by Darin Scorza. Darin's dad was a navigator in the group. Darin is an expert researcher and a gentleman. Without him, I would have never pieced together the history of my uncle's crew. I am currently working on a revision to a 68 page PDF document I compiled about the Nelson Crew, for all of the crew members' families.

Ironic you should post that link.

Their 'Base' (from which they flew against Germany) is less than TWO miles from where I buy ALL my Die-cast !!!!!!!!

There is one road which links the two places - 'Hall Lane' (Drayton) just outside Norwich (next to Horsham St Faith).

The Air-base is now known as "Norwich International Airport".

Thanks for the link..... always appreaciate stuff like that.

Elmer - interesting to hear about you're Uncle.......
