MLB Tickets?

Anybody else trying to get tkts today. The Tigers' site is totally swamped and they've stuck me in a virtual waiting room no matter which game I choose.

I've never seen anything like it! They haven't even won anything yet.

Re: MLB Tickets?

Yeah it is the same way at Wrigley for Cubs tickets. We have a friend back home that waits and gets us single game tix when she can..

Parsig, that's what you get when you sign a young, overweight, overhyped player to play the hot corner.

Re: MLB Tickets?

You guys should try to get tickets to a Toronto Maple Leafs(laughs) hockey game. One of the worst teams in the league and always sold out . You have to give away one of your kidney's dam near to buy a ticket they are so costly and hard to get. I am not a fan, but would like to go there to see other teams play, luckily I live close to Buffalo, not a fan either, were tickets are much more reasonable and the fans aren't brainwashed.

Trust me! We'll see about that choice......

At least we kept Brandon Inge just in case. I love the team the last couple years, esp '06, but now it seems we're becomming the Spankees and I just hate the idea of that.

So you hate the idea of winning? Sorry, I'm a huge Yankees fan and felt my obligation to respond. Looking forward to the season though.

The Yankees are just fun to beat up on.
It's more the whining than the winning that I'm hoping we avoid. I just don't want the team to become a bunch of brats that are "too good" to talk to fans, sign autographs and give interviews. With the exception of Sheffield who we got from..............., I think this has pretty much been a sincere group of guys who all get along and play really hard day in and day out. Heck, even Gary fit in pretty well last year and if not for the injury, who knows what his attitude might have been like.

I think that's a misconstrued conception of a lot of the present Yankees, that they are all snobbish and too good (Other than A-Rod, I can't stand him and was estatic when he initally opted out, I'm quite jealous of the Tigers having Miggy). A friend of mine who works in New York city for Sirious Satellite Radio has met Jeter many times and is amazed at how down to earth and humble that guy is. I was also in attendance at some games (in Cleveland, which I have to go get my tix for April v. the Yanks) when Jeter was on deck and walking over to some kids down by that area of the rails talking with them. Following the Yanks, you realize that they are not that way at all when you read their interviews, they just happen to make a ton more money than most players (you can't fault them for that). Oh well, Go Yanks!!!!!!!!!

Your welcome for Sheffield. I was really upset when in 2005 he talked about not hustling or giving 100% all of the time. Who does he think he is? Randy Moss?

Re: MLB Tickets?

Well, it seems we are both big fans and seeing you are a teacher too, we will both have plenty of time to see our clubs play this summer.

I did finally snag one big game this morning after waiting forever! Being in Ohio, that smelly Buckeye state, you might appreciate its significance. Wednesday 8/27, the rubber game vs. Cleveland. Ought to have potential that time of year.

Very excited as this was my first choice. All the Bo SoX, NYY games were early it seems or wouldn't work for one reason or another and I saw a few Chi Sox games last year, so time for something different.

PS No offense to Captain Eddie for the Ohio slur!

Re: MLB Tickets?

Being up there in Michigan, do you think you guys could annex Toledo? Maybe you could call it South Detroit. That smell you're smelling is just the fresh country air (anyone living near farms knows what I'm talking about).

With being a teacher, I love being able to go to a ton of games during the summer. Thankfully the tribe plays the Yanks for a weekend series at the end of April. I'm hoping to go to at least 2 of the games. I love the Jake's cheap seats in the upper deck, they're actually more enjoyable than the more expensive seats. 10-14 dollars a ticket can't be beat............unless they're free.
