New Show Battle 360°

Seems the folks at the History Channel may have got the message about canceling Dogfights. A new weekly show about PTO combat during WWII is due this month. The first show is about the combat life of the USS Enterprise. Battle 360 - History

I can't wait.

Re: New Show Battle 360°

Yeah I know showing JAG and CSI NY just ain't right they are not historically educational at all, although Catherine Bell fills out a Marine uniform & a bikini very nicely thank you, but really now what are these shows doing on the history channel??

Re: New Show Battle 360°

I've spouted off about HC so I won't go there too much but if you want real history, Hist International is the way to go. Much better but I only get to see when I visit my parents. Always taking mum tapes to record something.

Re: New Show Battle 360°

The entire series is about the Big E with 10 episodes. Here is the episode listing:

CALL TO DUTY (Premieres Friday, February 29 at 10 p.m. ET/PT)
It's December 7, 1941, and returning from a top-secret mission, Enterprise and its air groups embark on the attack on Pearl Harbor. During the early weeks of WWII, as America suffers one defeat after another, the Enterprise is one of the few shining lights, sinking enemy submarines, hitting the Japanese Navy in the Marshall Islands, and supporting the famous Doolittle Raid.

VENGEANCE AT MIDWAY (Premieres Friday, March 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT)
In one of the most famous naval battles in history Enterprise and sister carriers Yorktown and Hornet, turn the tide of the Pacific War. In just a few violent days in the waters off Midway Island, the American carrier fleet defeats the Japanese Navy, and the Enterprise helps secure one of America's first victories in WWII.

JAWS OF THE ENEMY (Premieres Friday, March 14 at 10 p.m. ET/PT)
In the summer of 1942, the American Navy is finally on the offensive. The first strike is in the Solomon Islands, North of Australia. Enterprise supports the first American Invasion of WWII as U.S. Marines storm ashore at Guadalcanal. The Japanese strike back with a vengeance and in a brutal slugfest in the Eastern Solomons, the Enterprise suffers its worst battle damage yet.

BLOODY SANTA CRUZ (Premieres Friday, March 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT)
Part two of the deadly saga of the Solomons plays out at the Santa Cruz Islands, the Enterprise loses sister ship USS Hornet and suffers dozens of casualties with bombings to the deck. When the smoke clears, the Enterprise is the only American carrier left in the Pacific.

ENTERPRISE VERSUS JAPAN (Premieres Friday, March 28 at 10 p.m. ET/PT)
November 1942, and for the crew aboard USS Enterprise the war has never been more personal. "The Big E" is the only battle-ready American carrier left in the Pacific and when the Japanese Navy tries to retake Guadalcanal, it's the Enterprise that destroys their transports, battleships and destroyers in Iron Bottom Sound.

THE GREY GHOST (Premieres Friday, April 4 at 10 p.m. ET/PT)
The USS Enterprise becomes the first ship to receive the Presidential Unit Citation, the highest award any American vessel can achieve. It's half-time in the carrier war for the Pacific, as Enterprise heads home for a major refit. With a new crew of "Citizen Sailors" aboard, and new technology, "The Grey Ghost" returns to the battleground and in the bloody Gilberts Invasion, launching the first night air operations ever flown from an American carrier.

HAMMER OF HELL (Premieres Friday, April 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT)
As 1944 begins, USS Enterprise and the Carrier Task Forces pummel through enemy bases at Kwajalien and Truk Lagoon, as the Japanese make a desperate stand in the Marshall Islands. From the Marshalls, the Enterprise sets a course for New Guinea and supports the invasion of Hollandia during Operation Persecution.

D-DAY IN THE PACIFIC (Premieres Friday, April 18 at 10 p.m. ET/PT)
While the allies storm France, on the far side of the world American forces hit Saipan in the Marianas Island. The Enterprise supports one of the largest and most deadly battles of the Pacific War, nearly wiping out Japanese naval airpower in the "Great Marianas Turkey Shoot," devastating enemy surface forces in the Philippine Sea.

BATTLE OF LEYTE GULF (Premieres Friday, April 25 at 10 p.m. ET/PT)
USS Enterprise and its escort ships and submarines engage in the largest sea battle ever. In a series of ferocious surface and air firefights the Japanese Navy is totally diminished in the last great naval engagement in World History. With the enemy fleet in chaos, the Enterprise and the American carrier force clear the way for an American invasion of the Philippines and set the course for the road to Tokyo.

THE EMPIRE'S LAST STAND (Premieres Friday, May 2 at 10 p.m. ET/PT)
In the winter of 1945, the Enterprise hits Luzon, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and Iwo Jima. The Big E also debuts a brand new night air-group from her flight deck. But as the U.S. Navy closes in on Okinawa and the Japanese homeland, the Empire lets loose a merciless weapon, the Kamikaze. Sailors and Marines on Enterprise now face the horror of deadly suicide attackers as the allies tighten the grip

Re: New Show Battle 360°

Catherine Bell was the only reason I watched that show.

That just happens to be the name of the shrew that taught my thesis class a couple years ago. She was a real battle-ax. Looked a little like Janet Reno but wasn't as sweet.

Gives me the shivers.

Have to google this other chic...

Ah, yeah, not the same chic I guess.. JAG huh? When is that on?
