| Re: New to 1/72 diecast. Where to start?
Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will enjoy it here. The people are great and there always seems to be at least one person who can help with a question about anything. If you should choose to get some Hobby Master and if you think there are any questions that aren't being answered on the forum feel free to PM me or email me hawkonevoodoo@yahoo.ca and I will do my best to get you an answer. Regardless of what company's models you buy I hope you enjoy your stay here and the hobby as much as the rest of us.

| Re: New to 1/72 diecast. Where to start? Hello Patrick and welcome to the fun. Fun , good advice and good friends are to be found on this forum. I dont collect jets myself apart from WW11 ones. Tail burners dont light my fire. Leave all those smelly jet things alone and get into the wonderful exciting world of Tail draggers. May I respectfully suggest you cast your eyes over the nice GMP ,Carousel and Corgi P40s. Soooo much history going on with those birds , a great plane flown by the best pilots ever to climb into a cockpit. They are all out there Patrick, as we say over here, DIP YOUR BREAD. | |||||||||||||

Look into my eyes, you need P40s, you need P40s, P40s P40s. They are so beautiful, no smelly old tailburner can compare to the the big butch P40. OOOO look at those shark mouth versions , drool over the trail blazing exploits of these birds, read up on all the aces that made their reputations flying these stunningly beautiful ladies. Must have P40s ,must have P40s must get some P40s sooooon.

| Re: New to 1/72 diecast. Where to start? You might consider some of the older Corgi jets. I really like my Fighting Cocks Hunter and EE Lightning. One site you need to see is tricatus.co.uk He has the Corgi AA info as well as a sister site link called Twinplane that has lots of brands and types. The sites are updated all the time and have the best photos on the net. | |||||||||||||

Very good indeed, if I can find sites like this one for each brand, it will make might life easier finding out which planes look good. The pictures are simply awesome, even the boxes have pictures! Thanks again Patrick

| Re: New to 1/72 diecast. Where to start? Welcome to the forum, Patrick. You will have fun here. All of the manufacturers make some models that are really good. Hobbymaster makes some interesting models with good looking paint jobs, and they're not too expensive. The older Corgi jets are also a good way to start your collection, a lot of these can still be found for reasonable prices. Witty makes some nice F-16s; and, these are also reasonably priced. Hope this helps. Again, welcome to the forum! | |||||||||||||
