Would you more inclined to buy a plane signed by the pilot?

Just wondering how many people on this forum would buy a plane they already owned if it was signed by the pilot? How much over retail would you be willing to pay for the signature and say a photo of the Ace signing the plane? I don't own any signed planes (like FM P-51 signed by Bud Anderson) but was just wondering if there's more desireability for the plane especially if it's actually signed by the pilot and not just a mass market printed signature.

Thanks for the responses!

Re: Would you more inclined to buy a plane signed by an Ace?

I don't know if I'd go for one if I already owned the model in question... would really depend on which ace and what plane I suppose. However, I would pay a bit of a premium for a new model that was signed versus one that wasn't -- %20-30% perhaps?

I don't own any signed models, currently, but have eyed the a few of the FM ones -- are they hand signed or printed sigs?

Hand signed and somewhere in the range of $36.00 for a 72nd scale.

Re: Would you more inclined to buy a plane signed by an Ace?

I have a few signed aircrafts by WWII aces such as Bud Anderson,Chuck Yeager,Bill Overstreet and Tex Hill..These were all hand signed too on the wings.
To me these are priceless and it really did not cost me anything more then just the model itself.
Anderson & Yeager signed both of my GMP 1:35 P-51D Mustangs for me and a 1:32 Old Crow of Anderson...Bill Overstreet's P-51B has a real signature on it and so was my Old Crow
P-51D of Bud Anderson both FM releases.
Like i said these are priceless.

If could meet those ACES in person anywhere anytime, you can bet your bottom dollar I would have my diecasts signed by these folks in a heartbeat! I do have a signed book by
Yeager, though I wish I had his P-51 Mustang at the time...

Oh, well if you talking about a specific line of 1:72 signed models at that price range, I'd likely be in.

It was a Honor to meet Mr.Anderson and Mr.Yeager and any other ace i met during my life ......
The first Ace i ever met was Pappy Boyington ..And i will never forget it...Thanks to my Dad being a Marine pilot ....
I also came away with two signed books from Pappy that day too.

I voted "yes" for under 25% mark-up, but I might go higher, depending.....

If its not overly priced, yes. Some good names on there. Sadly we're missing a few others not with us.
