Acually, I have eaten Haggis a few times at the Bobby Burns suppers over in Scotland. Not bad, actually.....

That's why I don't believe any talk about our government promoting alternative fuels or other energy sources- it'd lose too much money if we got away from gasoline. Kinda like the tobacco argument- you always hear the government warnings about the dangers of tobacco, and laws being passed to make it more difficult and expensive to buy, use and enjoy. But, you never hear the government planning to outlaw it completely because of the tax revenues that would be lost.

Rush, youy may be correct regarding gas vs other fuels, but the main reason they would not outlaw tobacco is the uproar it would create...they already tried it with booze, and we all know how well that turned out. I suspect outlawing tobacco would be even worse!

Re: How Long Have You Been Proud To Be An American?

If we go to corn as an alternate fuel source what will happen to the price of everything else that uses corn? Outlawing tabacco would suck but I can get behind that in the name of the greater good. Happy MoMo?

You may be right, Cap. It would certainly upset a lot of people in the tobacco growing states.
Just think how adding tobaccco to the illegal drugs list would complicate things!

My pleasure! One of my colleagues I worked with for over 25 years was born and raised in Stevenage -- 'The New Town' as he referred to it. We drank many pints of bitter, he and I -- and yaked on endlessly about aviation. Good times.
