Re: How Long Have You Been Proud To Be An American?

Hey, Sniper -- good 'un! I'm trying to remember the lyrics to our new national anthem. Doesn't it start out "God save the Queen / She ain't no human being"?

Most of those seem like pretty fair proposals, but as an editor I must say: adding all those pleonastic "u"s back? Nevour, sir, nevour!

Also, where's stout in the Beer Scheme of Things?

Tell ya what: Take this proposal back for a rewrite and we'll get back to you.

Nrrrm! Whoosh! Rat-tat-tat!

BTW sniper, as far as the whole tea thing goes-everybody knows coffee is a MUCH better drink anyway. Will you allow us to keep that?

Re: How Long Have You Been Proud To Be An American?

Well I dont know what you Americans think about yourselves but I would like to say that America and Americans are the tops.

I call myself privileged to have been to America and met so many genuine caring people.

I know that America gets things wrong sometimes and has many internal problems but the core values that make up the true American ideal are still alive and well.

Stand tall Americans and be proud of who and what you are.

NEVER forget that America carries half the world on its shoulders and all the responsibilities of protecting the free world.

Sniper why would you want to inflict Gordon Brown on our America cousins?
It would take about 10 minutes and the colonies would be up in arms again!
On second thoughts it would be a good way to get rid of him!

Hmm of course actually it was those darned Frenchies that won the war of independence.
However it was nice to see the colonists then kick the French out!

Now lets get serious, Captain Eddies good lady wife makes the best chocolate brownies in the whole world so I suggest that all American food aid should include those yummy delicacies.
Very soon thereafter the world will be so pro American you folks will be blushing like New brides!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God Bless America.

SniperUK,
Okay, you almost got everything correct except the baseball bit. We do allow Canadians to play so your Rounders bit is right out. You all will learn to play the sport the real way, which is the American way!

Proud liberal American all my life. I'll gladly fly my freak flag right next to my American flag. (Or more correctly, I fly my American flag with a picture of an American Indian superimposed over it. In fact, it's flying about 10 feet from where I'm typing.)

Anything for a weird life.

Sniper, if we here in the "Colonies" start using roundabouts, I know I'm going to need a therapist (or an undertaker)!

Re: How Long Have You Been Proud To Be An American?

13. From November 10th the UK will harmonise petrol (or Gasoline, as you will be permitted to keep calling it until April 1st 2009) prices with the former USA. The UK will harmonise its prices to those of the former USA and the Former USA will, in return, adopt UK petrol prices (roughly $8/US gallon- get used to it).

Some funny stuff and I agree on the beer.. ...but sorry, this gas price one won't fly! The price of oil is global so whatever your paying in the UK is what your oil companies charge plus (and here's the real culprit) what you goverment adds in tax!! Maybe it's time for a new Boston tea party UK style!
