I figure I will vote by diecast collection. Clinton model plane? Nope. Obama scale tank? No. Huckabee diecast? Nothing. McCain Skyhawk? Yes!!!

By the way, JP, Ron Paul is still in the race.

Re: Who do you want for Prez in 2008

JP, you just opened a can o' worms for me! Definitely not Obama and Hillary.....I don't want to hear screeching for the next 4 years after having to endure the slowwwww Texas drawl for the last 8. My ears can only take so much!!

An interesting side, Obama's spiritual advisor (Rev. Jeremiah Wright) awarded Louis Farrakhan his namesake award, which is the TUCC's newsmagazine's highest award! That's enough for me not to vote for him..........., birds of a feather and all that jazz..............

"Barack Obama is a member of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ. Its minister, and Obama's spiritual adviser, is the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. In 1982, the church launched Trumpet Newsmagazine; Wright's daughters serve as publisher and executive editor. Every year, the magazine makes awards in various categories. Last year, it gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to a man it said "truly epitomized greatness." That man is Louis Farrakhan."

Richard Cohen - Obama's Farrakhan Test - washingtonpost.com

His church's website and it's purpose. Shouldn't a church be above race, skin color, etc? Not saying their racist but why mention, ".....the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization"?

Scary,,,,,and I'm not white!!!

I like your style. I am voting for McCain. I am not one that votes Republican or Democrat, but I vote for who I like best. McCain gives you an honest answer. It might not be the one you like to hear, but it is true. I like that.

Hilary Clinton, for real. She is the right B... for the job. Exactly what we need right now. Of course, if Democrats will pick Obama, I'll be the lone person to cast a vote for McCain here in San Francisco.

Regards,

Sergey

I will be honest with ya....Obama....I don't know about him .....
Now McCain he has been trying for years to make it and this just might be his year who knows...
All i know is it's our duty to vote for the best person for the job...
Clinton i think is going to have a hard road ahead of her to win her party because of Obama.

Re: Who do you want for President in 2008

I'm trying to be objective here (from the sidelines) folks and have to say that I think that the US would be well served by either Hillary Clinton OR John McCain .

(Also, don't you think it's about time that the US had a woman for a President - she even has more cajones than some of the male candidates ... )

Re: Who do you want for President in 2008

To be honest don't like anybody, they are all bad for the nation in one way or another.
Both modern Democrats & Republicans have strayed so far away from the core principals of what our nation was founded upon.
Both party's do nothing more than push the expansion of government & in some cases globalism & soft socialism.
Republicans do it under the guise of security & Dems to it under the guise of helping the poor & down trodden.

If our for-fathers could seen what our government has been able to get away with in the past century they would turn in their graves.
What this nation needs is less government & more freedom, over both our personal lives & our income.
The average person is oppressively over taxed, we should never be taxed more than 15% on our income & even thats high.
For god sake we started a revolution over far less, now we just lay there & take from the government.

America has more than enough money to take care of it's needs & people without taking more tax money from them. Billions upon billions of our tax money is just being wasted by Washington both here at & around the globe.
We can no longer afford to save the world, America needs to get back to taking care of America first, just like every other nation does for it self!
But this will never happen under our crappy two party system.

Being we are the free-est nation in the world should have a plethora of party's to choose from, if at the very least three!
The two party system is not working, both party's have their own monopoly's & agendas & will continue to screw over the American citizen by doing what they want for decades to come.
Change, none of these candidates will give us any real change! The only true way to fix our nation is clean Washington out to to bottom & start over with a government for the people by the people as was intended.
lets send real people from our community's to work for us in Washington, not more of same lawyers, lobbyist & life long politicians.

LOL sorry for my rant, im just fed up with all these political a holes, o.k back to being happy & playing with models.

I agree with you Phantom Phan! This country does need at least a 3 party system. There should also be strick laws governing PACs and other Special Interest Groups that dictate decisions on Capitol Hill. This election has become, at least for me, which person will do the least harm to the U.S. over the next 4 years.

I work on a college campus and it scares me to see the backing that Barack Obama has because it's trendy. I asked some of the many, many Barack Obama supporters on campus why they supported him. The top 5 answers given me were:

1) he's handsome(it's all relative, consider the profession)
2) he is good speaker unlike our current president (duh)
3) he's a "fresh voice" (whatever that means)
4) we need someone besides a white male in the presidency
5) he didn't vote to go into Iraq (because at the time he was a local politician and not yet in the Senate but he continues to vote for funding the war?!?)

Mind you, most of the kids didn't or couldn't elaborate their answers and none of them spoke about his stance on major issues such as Illegal Immigration, the Economy, Unemployment, etc. I just think it's scarey that these kids who do not pay taxes are so caught up in the trendiness of the Obama campaign and yet, cannot go into depth about why they like him.

I just want someone who will discourage the sense of entitlement pervasive in the U.S., help the middleclass (instead of pandering to the poor or filthy, rich), stop selling out the U.S. to China, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, etc. and just generally bring some pride back to being an American! I guess this will happen when I shoot monkeys out my butt!!!

Oh yeah, Hillary slipped last Sunday during an interview on "This Week With George Stephanopoulos" and admitted that she would garnish the wages of people who didn't comply with her Health Plan. I thought that's what taxes were for?!?

ABC News: Clinton Weighs Health Care Wage Garnish

Hold on, it's gonna be another rough 4 years.

Re: Who do you want for President in 2008

Over here we have a website which asks 30 or so questions to establish (...) who's "your" candidate. Usualy for Dutch elections, but they have one up now for the US candidates.
Obama clearly is my candidate.

I saw or read an item or article several weeks ago. An NBA player (don't now who, but apparently he is a squeeky clean roll model ánd athletes are like oracles of course) and his wife (apparently he's a model citizen too) were interviewed. They made an interesting point on 24 years of presidency with presidents from only two families. A fresh breeze should be healthy.

McCain is not too bad a republican candidate imo (especially with the competition being way (wáy!) too focussed on religion for my taste (nu insult intended to anyone here). He seems to follow the party line not too rigidly and I like that. But he's a geriatricly challenged allready...

Can we try with real bullets now?
