Phantom, you're absolutely right that the entire current crop in Washington should be tossed out and replaced with people who actually respect the Constitution.
In my opinion, I put most of the blame for the current sad state of US politics squarely on the electorate. They are the ones who keep these clowns in office term after term (Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, Ted Stevens to name just a few), and it seems that these guys keep getting reelected based on the amount of pork-barrel money they bring into their states.
