Re: Where is jim?

Welcome back, Jim!!!! So glad to hear you and Lorraine are OK (more or less), and getting better.Skunky and I thought you'd perhaps gone somewhere without letting us know. (after all, who'd want to inform THIS bunch of one's plans!!!!) Guess I'll have to un re-arrange my diecast, cover the gaping hole I'd left for all of your P-40's I was going to get.

Be sure to post a pic of your new ATV, I'm sure MoMo will not want to miss it!

Don't listen to 'em Jim ! Go for top protection, next time. Get a Volvo or a VW. Better than that, get a Bradley or a Warrior, but keep Lorraine away from the cannon ! ( and the .50 cal. )

Re: Where is jim?

Jim, if you were in a P-40, that other car would of just bounced off.

Glad to hear you both are OK.

Just because you're a little bit under the weather Jim, does'nt mean that you can stop looking to discover the mystery of the four bladed MkVb Spit

Re: Where is jim?

Jim, Sorry to read of your altercation; glad to know, with true Yorkshire grit, that you have returned to the fray. I'll be in the UK in September; maybe we can commiserate over a jar in the NAAFI at Elvington again. Regards to Lorraine.

Cheers Jetfan

Re: Where is jim?

Hello Jetfan , as you know ,we Yorkies are made of stern stuff and dont get shot down too easily (except by our little ladies).
Lorraine and me would be delighted to meet with you up for tea and a wedge at the NAAFI, we enjoyed our all too short meeting at Elvington in 2006.
Crikey ,was it so long ago, time passes so quickly.
I think that last year you was here and we was over there in September, very bad planning on my part I think but Lorraine wanted to see the Fall in Maine after the Mustang show.

I wish I had been in a P40 leeG, I would have straffed the heck outa him. in aviation terms you could say I got bounced!

God Bless America.

Shamrock my friend the quest as to the truth of this conundrum goes on.

The BBMF example had its 4 blader put on during its rebuild after the war, the unanswered question is how many others had that prop.
In March I hope to be meeting up with a chap that worked on Spits so I shall ask him if he can remember anything about this non standard set up.
The only info I have is that only 6 Spitfires were fitted with 4 blades, ( I think there was more),
worry not we shall have our answer if we persevere.

God Bless America.

Re: Where is jim?

You're the man that put 'Yorkie' into Yorkshire Jim. For all you stateside people 'Yorkie' is a big, tough, chocolate bar and on sale only to big strong men
