Call your local dairy company. They can put his picture or his Avatar on the side of a milk carton.

Re: Where is jim?

HELLO, I am returneth back to the safety of the Hanger after being in combat with another vehicle.

I was on my way home from the supermarket, crossing a busy interchange in my little car when a speeding lunatic smacked into the side of my car!!!

First thing I knew was that everything went black and a chap said "ers yer arp now walk towards that light" (evidently they speak with a Yorkshire accent in the afterlife)!

However I regained my senses to find the car throttle jammed on full power, Lorraine cussing like a trooper and the car rolling slowly to a halt.
I switched off the ignition and staggered out of the car and said a few choice words to the idiot that hit me (while trying to hold Lorraine back, she was intent on removing his head and stamping on it).
Anyway after exchanging words and insurance details I stupidly got back in the car and somehow drove it home.
Interestingly ,the front driver side wheel steering rod was broken off and the car only steered on one of the front wheels yet I managed to drive it home!
The next day the pain hit home, concussion bruised ribs shoulder and pulled ligaments in my neck.
Lorraine thankfully was uninjured, fortunately the impact was on my side of the car.
I have been unable to do much because of the concussion, I banged my head on the side window pretty bad, (thats when I met the guy with the "arp" or harp.
Thankfully my past life did not flash before my eyes as the rumours would have you believe. Crikey I wouldnt want to have to relive all that again.
The little man inside my head has stopped hitting my brain with a big hammer now and the rest of me seems to be starting to work again.
I tried to use the computor a couple of times but for some reason it really hurt my eyes also the TV had the same effect.
However I seem to be on the mend and good news, I got my car back today all nicely repaired and looking like new again (repairs cost $9000 eek).

I will admit that I was very nervous going back on the road again after the crash, I was twitchy to say the least. Its my first car accident in over 40 years of driving so I guess its knocked my confidence a little.

Well there you are gentlemen, thats the reason for my being Awol, I missed you guys, yes even you Tank nut though I dunno why!
Thank you all for asking about me, I appreciate your concern, believe me when I tell you it takes a lot to keep me off the forum, its nice to know I was missed.

Btw how did wheres Jim turn into SKUNKY FOR PRESIDENT ?
I hasten to add that hes got my vote, no problem.
In answer to Tank nuts question about who gets the P40s, Lorraine says only American fighter pilots need apply, particularly the cool looking guys in their aviator shades.

The car is up for sale and I am buying a AFV to replace it.

Please remember that unlike other members I now have an excuse for talking rubbish, I can claim its all down to the bang on the head.

God Bless America.

Welcome back, Jim. Glad you are reasonably sound.

I wonder if we will see a difference in your posts....

Re: Where is jim?

What an event Jim! My goodness, so glad to see you are alright. Those are scary for sure. I was in one a few years back that broke every window and released every airbag. $14,0000+ in repairs. Still have the car and it runs great. Been..........5 years now! Been five years now years now now now.

I seem to have suffered no long term effects from it.

Don't forget the targets are my airfields, Leigh-Mallory, and you're not getting fifty, you're not even getting ten.

Re: Where is jim?

But did you take up skinny-skiing and acid bullfighting during those five years......?

Re: Where is jim?

Hey, Jim -- I'm glad you Geordies are built tough and you and Lorraine are both OK. Sounds like a nasty crash and I hope it's the worst you experience. (Raises glass *clink*)

Take it from a denizen of gridlocked Los Angeles: Everyone on the road but you is a maniac.

Nrrrm! Whoosh! Rat-tat-tat!

Re: Where is jim?

By the way, Jim, I am certain your doctor has advised you to avoid any heavy lifting, particularly heavy die-cast P-40s.

I would suggest getting them out of the house- I would be happy to provide stewardship over them- so as to avoid the temptation.
