Best you can do is dig up a story that's about 15 years old (at least)? Come on, you can do better. There's GOT to be a more recent negative-slant B-2 story out there. No? Awwwww, shucks, I'm SO disappointed!

I happen to work right next to 2 B-2 pilots, and they are laughing pretty good...

FVD

Well yes I can understand them laughing FVD when you spend that sort of cash developing a plane & it cant be used in the rain it does have its funny side but in all seriousness it was a straight forward question about the advancement of this particular technology I have no axe to grind either way, any machine that pushes the barriers of technology forwards should be greeted with open arms by all regardless of country of origin.

I can not believe 15 years have flown by (no pun intended) since this particular problem was brought up but it was the reason for my asking ...what has happened in the last 15 years to solve this issue?.

I don't know what that is, Nim

Rain-X is used to repel water off of windshields. I figure if they just applied it all over the skin of the B-2s, that would work too.....or maybe they already thought of that and that's why it's no longer an issue.

Thanks for enlightening me on that one Skunky a Pac a Mac was/is a very lightweight plastic overcoat that one could fold up to fit inside the pocket of a casual jacket or ladies handbag (which ever you had with you at the time )

What's happened in the last 15 years is the B-2 had been proven in combat.

Are you Brits still bitter that after you invented carbon fiber, invented the Harrier, you had to buy carbon fiber Harriers from us?

Speaking as a British tax payer if buying from the USA is making the best use of my taxes then that is fine by me.

Re: Stealth: To See or not to See

you 100% on that, maybe they just didnt admit to it, i find it hard to believe with both planes operating at the same base they would not have gone up against each other, maybe the USAF didnt want to admit the raptor isnt as superior as they thought or maybe the RAF wanted to keep telling everyone how great the typhoon is, i dont know and i dont care really, i just dont think we know what happened, the only people who do know sure as hell wont be posting about it on internet forums

here is a photo that shows that both planes where operating at the same airbase

Re: Stealth: To See or not to See

Regarding the F-35, we will know what it can and cannot do once it actually enters service. Only then will we find out if this thing is as good as it is claimed to be.
