Re: Quiz: Test Your Warbird IQ

Sud-Aviation Vautour

'Planenutsfrog' uses one as his 'Avatar'

They were featured in a T.V. programme (for youngsters) that was screened in the Early-mid 1970's on B.B.C. (which featured TERRIBLE "dubbing").........called........"The Aeronauts" .

That's why I remembered 'em.

Correct. This is one of the ones I would like to see in diecast, but, obviously, only an Altaya/IXO type of marketer will ever do one.

Re: Quiz: Test Your Warbird IQ

One more for now:

The F-9F Panther has an airbreak system which can be used when needed. Where is this facility located?

1) Under the tail, near the arrester hook
2) Under the wings
3) Under the fuselage, just below the cockpit
4) On the sides of the rear fuselage

That would be 3) Under the fuselage, just below the cockpit.

Re: Quiz: Test Your Warbird IQ

And another:

The F-15 carries two electronic countermeasure aerials (ECMs ). Where are these located?

1) On its wingtips
2) In pods under the fuselage
3) On top of the tail fins

3.

I'm pretty sure it's a Vickers Wellington, however the location of the antenna seems unusual for Coastal Command aircraft. As far as the exact Mark, it could be a Wellington GR.Mk.XIV.
