Re: Quiz: Test Your Warbird IQ

That would be Stoyan Stoyanov with 15 victories. The Bf 109E-7 he flew had a real interesting looking paint scheme.

Hmmm? The source I used cites Cudomir Toplodolski with 8 kills as the top scorer. Looks like I'll have to do more checking on this one.

Re: Quiz: Test Your Warbird IQ

How about the top scoring Rumanian ace for WWII?

One of my sources says it's Constantine Cantacuzenne--a prince, no less--with 60 kills.

Re: Quiz: Test Your Warbird IQ

Here's a horse of a different color. Which country was the first to identify its military aircraft with insignias or national markings?

1) Belgium
2) Great Britain
3) France
4) Italy
5) Germany
6) Russia
7) Bulgaria

I also show Cudomir as top ace with 8 and Stoyan 3rd with 6.

Re: Quiz: Test Your Warbird IQ

I also show Cudomir as top ace with 8 and Stoyan 3rd with 6.

Thats odd, my hard copy source at home has it with Lietenant Stoyan Stoyanov with 14, AcesofWW2 has him also with 14-4, one site just on Stoyan Stoyanov had him listed leading ace, and WWII Ace Stories site has him list number one with 15 kills (Also site with the picture of neat looking paint scheme). I did find one source that showed in favor or Cudomir. Have four sources for Stoyan Stoyanov and one for Cudomir, must do some more digging to see which is correct.
