Re: Quiz: Test Your Warbird IQ

Ok. Let's try one about engines.

Which of these is not an advantage for a fighter using an air-cooled ( radial ) engine versus a liquid cooled engine?

1) Air-cooled offers greater speed
2) Air-cooled can absorb more battle damage and still work
3) Aircooled gives the pilot more protection

Based on sheer tonnage, I'd go with the P-47D--no.2.

Re: Quiz: Test Your Warbird IQ

Based on sheer tonnage, I'd go with the P-47D--no.2.

Based on Rounds (1/sec)(100), Weight (kg/sec)(4.85) and Energy (kW/sec)(1835) it actually places (First) second on the planes listed.

Rechecked my numbers and P-47 does come out on top. Oops. So yes you are correct!!
