Re: Wild visitor to our helipad

Our dear old Air Force still operate the Huey (UH-1H version) with 14 or so on strength. They are getting replaced in 2 years time by NH-90's but I for one will be very sad to see them go - that sound just goes right through you. I've been fortunate enough to have a few flights in them & even though they are a big bird they are still very manouverable in the right hands.

Re: Wild visitor to our helipad

A Huey is 1:72 has long seemed like a no brainer to me. There have to be at least 4 million schemes (Only a slight exageration.) and almost everyone knows the bird. (Plus, who doesn't have visions of Apocalypse Now and those Air Cav birds taking out that village.)

Anything for a weird life.

Oh yeah.... never mind the smell of napalm, the sound of an approaching Huey is sound of victory!!!!!
