Hitler and the Jews

I was driving home from work today, and heard one of Paul Harvey's "The rest of the Story" stories. I cannot remember every detail, but it was about the writings of a man who hated Jews and talked of the need to eliminate them. Hitler apparently developed his "theories" from the writings of this man who had died before Hitler was even born. The man wrote under an assumed name, which I do not remember. Hitler also liked this man's music. Music, you say? Yes, music! This man's real name..................?????

Richard Wagner, born May 22, 1813, died 1883.

Re: Hitler and the Jews

Probably no-one wants to take a stab at this one so how about telling us the .... rest of the story?

Damn small screen. Guess I'll have to start scrolling down now. Beats looking like a nut... tank.
Thanks Cap

Re: Hitler and the Jews

Yeah, the Nazis had a thing for Wagner. You can hear it all over the newsreals they produced. Anti-semitism was rampant in Europe - remember the Dreyfus Affair in France in the 1890's - the Nazis decided to escelate the hate, so to speak. People don't seem to be happy unless they have someone to blame for their problems.

I still like Wagner's music, though.
