Re: Nine VC medals stolen

Are these numbered so a future buyer would know they are stolen? What is the value of said medals? Bottom line, these cowardly bastards have to take from better men then themselves.

I hope they find the perpetrators and strung them by their nuts upside down!

Re: Nine VC medals stolen

That is such a sad article. I'm betting that these end up in a vault by some "collector" and won't be seen again for 100 years. (Presuming they are not caught of course.) Much the same way that art work is stolen and ends up in some private "collection" never to be seen.

Let's just hope they nail the bastards.

Anything for a weird life.

Re: Nine VC medals stolen

If they're caught, perhaps they should be shut in a room with some young, LARGE VC-type armed forces men told to handle them in any way they feel is right!!!

Not 100% sure about the VC's, but most British / New Zealand medals are incribed with the name of the person they were awarded to.

What is the value of said medals?

If they were sold, they'd probably fetch millions. To put their value into perspective, the NZ Minister of Defence descipbed them as "National Treasures". And a $300,000 reward has been offered for information leading to their recovery.

Bottom line, these cowardly bastards have to take from better men then themselves.

Couldn't agree more.

Eddie, I've got a couple of ex-SAS army mates who'd gladly volunteer for that role ;-)
