Re: B-29 "FIFI" will fly again! :)

Saw her in 1976 and again in 2006 when she was at the local airshow here in Columbus, GA. Paid the ten bucks to get in the cockpit, but missed seeing her take off on the following Monday. Would love to see that one kick over just once.

Re: B-29 "FIFI" will fly again! :)

I saw FiFI at several airshows in the 70s & 80s. Visited Harlingen way back for a CAF show. FIFI, B-24, B17, B25s in air at same time,.... really cool.

Cool Re: B-29 "FIFI" will fly again! :)

I saw the only airworthy B-29 at the last air show at the National Warplane Museum near Elimra, NY about four years ago. It was owned by the then "Confederate Air Force" and it was and is a damn impressive bomber. I say the then "Confederate Air Force" since the PC crowd has forced the group to change the name. Soon we'll be forced to eliminate Nazis and Japs from our vocabulary since we may be accused of treating those murdering bastards in an insensitive manner. The B-29 at the NEAM is a beautiful restoration, BTW.

Yea I'm guilty of those and a few more. Got my son saying it too (not by design) when we play the MOH games on his Playstation. But he knows that was then not now.

Re: B-29 "FIFI" will fly again! :)

That is great news to hear!! It's probably been close to 20 years since I've seen FIFI so hopefully I'll get to see it soon.
