Re: Welcome back to MHII !

My friends wife comes from Sligo and she smuggled a small bottle back for me when she returned from a visit to her relatives.

It took several months for the back of my throat to heal up.

I like you too much too comment on this one Jim, but you left the door wide open.

Re: Welcome back to MHII !

Funny, I coulda swore I heard a band as I crossed the Dover coast and saw flack on the way in this morning. Funny.....

Probably from the "anti-Michigan" Flak guns around The Ohio State University........

Re: Welcome back to MHII !

I've been a member of the DAC for some time but rarely posted or started threads there.

Phew, thank you very much Gavin for all your efforts to get the forum back online again.

Good to be back home!!

Funny enough Epz' I'm the same as you - been a member of D.A.F. for quite some time, yet rarely post ! (eerie !)

Ever since I made M.H.1 my 'Home-Base' thru choice, I've remained 'Stateside' on my 'forum-of-choice'

M.H.II took-over & last-week, I feared it had just gone 's-up LOL.

Hope it remains constant, in future, as this forum is so free-flowing & seems to hold my attention much more than 'DAF'

I feel just like J.P.N.'s 'borrowed' 'Taylor'-print (featured above)

Maybe I should paint some 'stars & stripes' on the ol' fuselage ?

Even though I'm English to the core (with some genuine Canadian cousins !)

Don't know why I called the UK forum DAC. Of course, I meant DAF. Anyway, I think you are right on the free-flowing aspect. I sense a lot more energy on the MHII site. Possibly this is due to our greater diversity of member types and interests. For example, the vast majority of DAF responders in one of their polls identified themselves as Brits. Small wonder that so many of their model wish lists focus---often exclusively--- on RAF planes. By way of contrast, look at our many wish lists and you see lots of requests for Japanese, Italian, Russian and French planes, as well as greater interest outside of WW II--like the Spanish Civil War, for instance. I've also noticed that DAF members are much less inclined to respond to threads and posts.-----especially from "strangers". On MHII, you get about one reply for every ten views. I haven't compiled the exact DAF ratio, but I think it's probably higher.

Despite the comments, above, I found my week's sojourn to the UK site to be a pleasant experience, so I will post there more often. They all seem to be good natured and intelligent blokes over there.

Well said Epz' - I'm glad you highlighted it !!!!!!!!!!!

I HONESTLY think they are TWO major reasons why I prob' prefer this forum & consider it 'Home'.

Certainly seems to be more 'Vitality' & 'Input' (just my personal opinion, it's a 'preference')
